1

Draw the important structures that identify each phase paying particular attention where needed to chromosomes, centrosomes and both cell and nuclear membranes. Assume it is an animal cell.

  1. Interphase (late)
  2. Prophase (late) or Prometaphase
  3. Metaphase
  4. Anaphase
  5. Telophase
  6. Cytokinesis (after mitosis) showing early interphase

2

Draw the important structures that identify each phase paying particular attention where needed to chromosomes, centrosomes and both cell and nuclear membranes. Show a cell that has a diploid number of 4 (2n = 4) and color (or otherwise mark) the M and P chromosomes and be sure you show proper tetrad/dyad patterns throughout. Assume it is an animal cell.

  1. Prophase I (late) or Prometaphase I
  2. Metaphase I
  3. Anaphase I
  4. Cytokinesis following telophase I. Show it as a complete telophase I.

For the remaining diagrams draw only one cell, to make it clearer and easier.

  5. Metaphase II
  6. Anaphase II
  7. Telophase II

3

Draw a summary of meiosis showing the ploidy and of cell as it goes through meiosis I and meiosis II with the cytokinesis required to turn one diploid cell into four haploid cells.

4

If you pollinate the female part of a plant with its own pollen, is that asexual reproduction?
Why or why not?

5

Are sheep a parthenogenic species?
Why or why not?
